GURPREET VS A BUTT UGLY MOTH

<!–[endif]–>

Right yesterday night before getting into bed I was about to switch my bedroom light off until I see something flying in the air around my room (kind of got scared at first), it was a nasty ugly looking brown moth hovering around my light bulb (urgh).

GURPREET IS RELIEVED FROM “CENTRAL LONDON ACCOMMODATION HUNTING”

I can’t really believe I’m saying this but WHOW, I’m actually relieved from the “Central London Accommodation hunting” for my brother. I’ve been stressed in trying to get him a place to live over weeks now, as explained in my previous post here.

My brother actually went down to Central London on Thursday (28th August 2008) to view a few of the properties. He managed to find a flat that is actually down the road from his previous halls, (which he wanted) and has access to the London Bridge and Borough underground tube.

Also a debut film for a former Indian Cricketer, Navjot Sidhu (right side of the poster). The songs in the film are brilliant just hope the film is just as good. He has made generally decent films even though the storyline is always based on onecertain issue. But oh well ! Hope this one is a little different :D

GURPREET RECEIVES INFORMATION ON “ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOR ACT 2003″

As I mentioned in my previous post on “Vandalism Is Back In “The Area”“, today the neighbourhood all received flyers over the new Anti-Social Behavior Act 2003, where police patrol will be roaming around our area and looking out for Anti-Social Behaviour in order to make the area a better place to live.

The flyer: newsection30newtown

I’m actually overwhelmed at the new act introduced. I hope it makes a big difference !

GURPREET FINDS HER “DOODLE BOOK”

I was trying to tidy and clean out my wardrobes today since I’m planning to re-decorate my room, and I came across my little “Doodle Book”.

…The doodle book was like a small pictogram journal of our mini adventures and travel journeys when starting first year of University (University Of Portsmouth). My two friends and I would chuck in pictogram entries day by day. (I’m not quite sure how the book was named as “Doodle Book”, haha !)

GURPREET’S SEARCH FOR BROTHER’S ACCOMMODATION

It has been over weeks trying to find my brother accommodation for his second year of universiy at Kings College London. This past week we have been ringing non stop estate agents in Central London trying to find accommodation within “SE1″ area preferably London Bridge, Borough or slightly pushing it up to Bermondsey.

VANDALISM IS BACK IN “THE AREA”

Well the area we live in currently I would describe it as “rough”, however to be fair over the past years the area has been improved by certain changes being made.

For example, a few weeks back a new rule was introduced in the area, where the police patrol will be roaming “the area” streets and fining those who cause anti-social behavior. If the youth is under 16 they will be escorted back home safely and the parents could be fined up to £2500, however if the youth is above 16 they will be fined up to £2500 and may serve time in jail for up to 3 months.

…and today morning the neighbourhood were all gathered outside. We went to have a look to see what was going on and saw that my neighbours car (BMW 3 series) had been graffittied on and acid thrown on it.

GURPREET ATTENDS AN AMAZING KIRTAN DARBAR

Yesterday I attended an amazing Kirtan Darbar that was set up in Southampton at Gurdwara Nanaksar to commemorate the 300 years of Guruship of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (the living, eternal Guru).

The darbar was enlightened by Kirtan performed by various Ragi’s including;
-> The Hajoori Jatha of the Gurdwara (local Ragi’s)
-> Bhai Balwinder Singh Rangeela & Jatha (Kirtani’s)
-> Bhai Jagtar Singh Komal & Jatha (Kirtani’s)

Two lecturers also attended and spoke about Sri Guru Granth Sahib. One lecture (which was mind blowing) explained on how some people nowadays don’t accept Sri Guru Granth Sahib fully as “Pargat Guran Ki Deh”, meaning they don’t treat Sri Guru Granth Sahib in the same respect of a Guru. They don’t keep in mind that Sri Guru Granth Sahib is an eternal living Guru.

After the Kirtan and the lectures, Makhdoom Syed Chan Pir Qadri

GURPREET BECOMES A “TEACHER”

…haha, well not quite a teacher, but yesterday I just saw my siblings, little sister (8) and little brother (7), looking absolutely bored with nothing to do. Especially when in the holidays they haven’t really been anywhere even though I promised them I would take them to Paultons Park, but the weather played up and couldn’t take them at all. Which was a shame really because they’ve just been sitting at home throughout the holidays. Poor things.

…So, yesterday I decided to get them both to sit down and make them write a story. Hmm..doesn’t sound too fun? but it’s amazing to see you they were extremely beyond excited and hyped up over hearing the fact of them having to write a story.

Gurpreet’s Offered A Partial Refund From DSA

…Today I recieved a letter through the post from the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) offering me a partial refund of a driving practical that was charged a higher (premium) fee for the tests that were taken

on Saturdays. (Meaning I qualify for the partial refund, :D, as my test was on a Saturday in 2005!). The partial refund is calculated by the difference between the fee I paid for the Saturday test in 2005, and the correct fee now. Which doesn’t seem to be much, but for me is a lot, :D - After all money doesnt grow on trees.
