Gurpreet Manages To Fix A Cabinet From Scratch

After we done a Langar at home for my brothers 19th birthday, we had to clean the rooms out we threw away our old front room cabinet as it was kind of breaking down (thanks to the siblings). We bought a new one 2 weeks ago from Argos, which was delivered on Tuesday (12th August 2008).

Since the delivery the cabinet was just abandoned in the hall way. My dad had a holiday today from work so we thought we’ll fix the cabinet together. We opened the box up and my goodness I had no clue how the cabinet would end up looking like one! There were bits and pieces everywhere, even the instructions manual looked like a bunch of gobbelty gook to me. It seemed so complicated.

Gurpreet Gets Back Into The “Hundred Push Up Challenge”

I took the hundred push up challenge a month ago, (explained in my previous post). For the past few weeks I become lazy and ended up stuck onto Week 2 Day 3, but today I went onto Week 3 Day 1 carrying on with the challenge and hoping to keep going without stopping this time.

From Week 1, which I found really hard the push ups were extremely hard for me. Considering you have to do it the proper way and avoid cheating as it just doesn’t help. I could barely go past 3 proper push ups without splattering to the ground. But gradually the more push ups you do the more you improve.

Week 3 Day 1 (Today) 15 push ups were quite hard, I didn’t exactly achieve 15 push ups, however I reached 12, which I still think was a great achievement from someone who could barely do 3 without dropping, managed to do 12. But perhaps it could have been that I began the push ups again after nearly 2 weeks of being lazy.

…Meaning I will have to do the Week 3 Day 1 push ups again otherwise I wont be able to move on.

Gurpreet’s Film Review On Panjabi Film “Sajna Ve Sajna”

Well the film opens with a brilliant scene from Nankana Sahib in Pakistan. The film is about a muslim family in pakistan, grandmother (Fatima), grandson (Jibran), and grandaughter who adopted an orphan child, of a Sikh family, Manpreet, but raised her like their own daughter. Despite them being Muslims and Manpreet being Sikh they didn’t let Manpreet lose her faith, beliefs and religion. One day a letter comes from “Ajit Singh”, who was meant to be Manpreets father in law as the grandmother who adopted her, Fatima, had given Manpreets alliance to Ajit Singhs son, however in the letter Ajit writes and explains that he doesnt want the alliance to go ahead as he beleives that his son isnt good enough for Manpreet because she is educated girl and his son is uneducated. So the grandma is upset and angry at the fact that Ajit Singh broke the alliance and gave a silly excuse. Manpreet explains how neither did the grandmother break the alliance, neither did she break the alliance but neither did ajit singh break the alliance, it was all God’s way of showing that if he broke this alliance he has also fixed another alliance else where.

Gurpreet wants another Bonsai Tree

It’s been nearly a year, in October, since one of my best friend bought me a Bonsai Tree for my 20th birthday.

I was at the University with my friend when she decided to take me shopping in order to search for my birthday gift at Cascades Shopping Centre in Portsmouth. We went outside onto Commercial Road, which is the main shopping high street where Cascades Shopping Centre’s entrance is, and nothing really caught my attention. Until we walked passed a small stall on Commercial Road. It was a stall selling Bonsai Tree’s and they all looked ever so charming. So we decided to go up and have a look. After looking at the wide range of Bonsai tree’s I saw a cute small tiny Bonsai Tree that was just hiding away and was on its own amongst other huge ones that were triple times the size of it. My friend knew I really liked the small Bonsai Tree so she decided to buy me it for my birthday, along with it she bought a small Panda (which the stall man told us it was for luck), that justs sits in the pot. It was so pretty, small, and with pink flowers sprouting out. I really loved the other Bonsai Trees that were slightly bigger as well but the prices on them were too high and no way I could have afforded them on the spot.

Gurpreet’s Aim To Get Back Into Reading Books

I’m aiming to get back in the habit of reading books. Since I started University I haven’t really had the chance to read anymore, and now want to pick up the habit once again.

On the last day of University, I decided to go and browse the Portsmouth Central Library on Guildhall Square (Opposite the Guildhall) with my friend to search for reading books.

We planned to have a look around the library quite some time ago but never actually had the chance to actually go. Since we usually spent more time in our actual University Of Portsmouth Library.
